States of Presence
Ongoing Series
This series comes from my desire to pay attention.
In a world that often pushes us toward speed and constant distraction, I am drawn to those moments that invite us to slow down: a gaze, a flower touched by afternoon light, a reflection, or a feeling that is difficult to put into words.
Through portraits, elements of nature, and suggested atmospheres, I explore experiences of contemplation, silence, and presence. I am not interested in painting only what I see, but also what I feel while observing.
Many of these works begin with moments that deeply move me. When I paint, I often feel connected to what I am observing, as if the distance between the observer and the observed briefly disappears. In that space of attention and connection, much of my creative process takes place.
Rather than describing a scene or a person, I hope to share an experience — an invitation to slow down, to feel, and to reconnect with the beauty and depth that can be found in the present moment.
The series is ongoing.
